Creative Problem Solving (CPS)

Urban Homelessness in the U.S.

The United States, despite being the world’s wealthiest nation, faces a significant challenge in urban homelessness.

To address complex issues like these, IdeaGens employs a 3-phase, 6-step Creative Problem-Solving process:

  1. Understanding Phase

    • Identify key stakeholders and analyze the causes of the issue from multiple perspectives.
    • For each identified cause, generate a wide range of potential ideas to address it.
  2. Solution Phase

    • Prioritize and select future-oriented aims from the ideas generated.
    • Identify Critical Success Factors (CSFs) necessary to achieve these aims.
    • Develop targeted ideas to address each CSF, ensuring a comprehensive approach to problem-solving.
  3. Implementation Phase

    • Break down selected decisions into actionable components: Activities, Inputs, Outputs, and Impacts.
    • This structured approach ensures that solutions are actionable and measurable, driving meaningful outcomes.
